INFO FOR PARADE PARTICIPANTS:

1. LINE-UP BY 5 PM

It will be very crowded, so make sure you give yourself PLENTY of time to park and walk to the meeting spot. 2nd Street in Belmont Shore is very dog-friendly with lots of bars, coffee shops, shopping, and restaurants, so there’s plenty to do and see if you get there early.

➡️ Again, plan to arrive early!

2. WHERE TO PARK

Free parking is available starting at 3 PM at the Ocean Ave Beach lots (see map below for the RED BOXED area—those are the BEACH PARKING LOTS).

We highly recommend parking at the Ocean Ave Beach Lots, as it’s the closest and most plentiful parking. As long as you arrive early, you should have NO problem finding a spot. Take a look at the location of our exact parade lineup/meetup spot on the map—follow the yellow line to the Corgi Face on the map for our meetup location at 2nd and Quincy Ave. (keep scrolling for the map!)

If you arrive early enough, you may also find free street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods (just make sure you are not parked on a street that is blocked off for the parade). Be sure to give yourself PLENTY of time to park and walk to the meet-up spot.

Parking Options:

  • Ocean Ave. Beach Parking Lots (Approx. 10-min walk)
5000 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA 90803 (free parking along the lot from Belmont Pool to Rosie’s Dog Beach).

  • Neighborhood/Street Parking (if available).

  • Backup/Alternate Parking: Marine Stadium Parking Lots (Approx. 25-30 min walk):
5255 E Paoli Way, Long Beach, CA 90803.

➡️ We can't stress this enough—arrive early and give yourself plenty of time!

3. MEET-UP SPOT AND PARADE LINE-UP

Once you park, walk to 2nd St. at the corner of Quincy Ave for our parade line-up.
After you park, plug this location into your GPS: 189 Quincy Ave, Long Beach, CA 90803.

Our group will line up on Quincy Ave, about the 5th group down the street. You won’t miss us—look for the stunningly good-looking people, corgis, and our Corgi Christmas float!

  • The parade kicks off promptly at 6 PM and moves quickly.

  • The parade route is 1.2 miles roundtrip and takes about 50 minutes to walk.

4. FLAG PICKUP AND CHECK-IN

We have the list of participants who purchased flags. Upon arrival at the meet-up spot, check in with Dan or Kelly to pick up your 2024 MERRY CORGMAS So Cal Corgi Nation flags.

⚠️ Flags will not be shipped. You must pick them up upon arrival.

Reminder: Anyone can spectate the parade for free, but to march, one flag per human is required.

5. HOLIDAY ATTIRE

Holiday attire is MANDATORY for all participants! 🎅 Break out your Santa hats, Christmas sweaters, and festive gear—the more outrageous, the better!

Corgis in holiday attire are HIGHLY encouraged! There’s no such thing as “too much” in Corgi Nation. 🎄✨ Let’s bring the CORGI CHRISTMAS OVERLOAD and spread smiles!

Important: Please DO NOT DRESS UP AS SANTA CLAUS (per parade organizers—there’s only one Santa in the parade).

6. CHRISTMAS CORGWAGON CONTEST

Get creative and decorate those wagons! Our Best CorgWagon Contest will be held at 5:40 PM at the parade meet-up spot.

🏆 The winner will receive a $100 Grand Prize!
Feel free to decorate wagons in line with the overall parade theme: Holiday Traditions. Wagons aren’t mandatory to march but are a big hit with spectators!

7. WEATHER

California winters are unpredictable, so be sure to check the forecast. Dress in layers and prepare for both warm or chilly conditions. The parade is rain or shine!

8. LIVE STREAM

The parade will be live-streamed starting at 6 PM on belmontshore.org. Share the link with your friends and family so they can watch the Corgmas fun!

9. END OF PARADE

Once the parade ends, please move off the street to keep the road clear for other groups. You can socialize on the sidewalks or watch the rest of the parade from 2nd Street.

Please email us if you have any questions. We are so excited to MARCH with you and TAKE OVER THE BELMONT SHORE CHRISTMAS PARADE!

WHO’S READY TO REPRESENT SO CAL CORGI NATION and get the CORGMAS SEASON STARTED?! 🎄🐾

Thank you,
Kelly & The So Cal Corgi Nation Team

ADDITIONAL TIPS & TRICKS…..
Getting there (especially for spectators who may arrive later…): TAKE THE “BACK ROADS!”
If you are coming from the Orange County area, do not turn onto 2nd St. You will end up at Bayshore Ave., after the smaller bridge, where you will be in an endless line of cars being directed to turn right, and head away from Belmont Shore. Best to avoid 7th St. as well. You will be in a big backup there as well. Overshoot it. Come down Redondo or Cherry. Make your way over on smaller streets like 3rd or 4th St. Leave with plenty of time in advance and know you may have to park & walk a bit – at most, it will only take about 20 minutes. The closer it gets to parade time, the busier the area can get.

We can't stress enough, give yourself plenty of time and arrive early

IT MAY BE A BIT CHILLY after the sun goes down, so dress appropriately.

BATHROOMS – there will be porta potties at Quincy and 2nd Street near our lineup location.

Please email us with any and all questions you may have, we are so excited to MARCH with you at THE BELMONT SHORE CHRISTMAS PARADE !  WHO'S READY TO REPRESENT SO CAL CORGI NATION and get the CORGMAS SEASON STARTED!?!

Final thoughts …

SMILE .. you’re on camera!! Think of the tons of people that will be taking photos and filming this event, give it your best So Cal Corgi Nation holiday spirit!

WE. ARE. CORGI. NATION!!!!

Get ready to have a great time!!!
